Today, I took Brennan to the Laurie Berkner Band Concert. She is one of my most favorite children's singer/songwriters! I have been using her songs for several years in music therapy and with my own kids. We see her on Noggin all the time and love to sing her energetic and thoughtful songs. I was thrilled when she was coming to town and thought it would be a great chance for Brennan and I to spend some quality time together. Brennan has always been a bit shy in front of me to sing or "let loose" - but he got into Laurie Berkner today. He (ME too!) had a great time.

I was so excited when they said you could take pictures of the band....but this is what I got.

...not so great - so you'll have to imagine how great it was!
If you have little ones and don't already own some of her music - you MUST, MUST, MUST purchase yourself some. I want to be Laurie Berkner when I grow up and wear pink boots on stage!

Sounds like you had a terrific time and am so glad that Brennan enjoyed the concert. You will remember this for years. I so remember going with Colleen & you to the childrens concerts at the Art Museum in Detroit.Such great experiences for children.
I am quite sad that I missed this. I didn't even know she was coming to town. I would have taken Ben in a heartbeat. Dangit. Glad you had fun with Brennan!
