Camp Out

Last night we decided to have camp night. The plan was to set up Brennan's little tent in the living room and do "camping" type stuff all night. We started a little fire in the chiminea to cook hot dogs...but Brennan didn't want to because the fire was so hot. Then we had to do marshmallows right away so we didn't have to keep the fire going. Brennan was up for that...but didn't want to eat the marshmallow "because I don't like marshmallows". So he had a graham cracker. Then Bryan had rented a movie for us to watch but I got hung up on the computer getting stuff done and totally missed it. I guess when it was over...Brennan headed to his room to play on his computer. What fun! So, around 10pm Brennan was finally tired enough to go to sleep...he wanted me to sleep in the tent with him. We had rigged a sheet to go over the tent and over the couch so Bryan could be on the couch and still part of the "fun". My back is already killing me and I have indigestion from the hot dogs. Nelly barked because she wanted to go out and so Bryan got up to let her out which made the sheet fall down. Okay, so 10 minutes later...Brennan was asleep and I headed for my nice comfy bed in the other room and Bryan stayed on the couch. I guess around midnight Brennan woke up wondering where I was and Bryan joined him in the tent at that point. So, things didn't go as planned but it was still an adventure and that's what mattered most.

Cakes!

I finally am at the computer the same time as my digital camera is and I can post some pictures. I recently did a Thomas the Tank Engine Cake for Riley's birthday party. Shannon helped and the kids played while we worked. We think it turned out pretty good!

I did another cake for a reception for Barbara....Shannon decorated it with the fresh flowers. It was really yummy, too! Oh, yeah, it was really big!

Some days I dream of opening a bakery and making cakes all day....and then I do projects like these and realize that it's only fun to do them once in a while. Not 20 a day!
