1 more week to go

So...it's the last week of school. That means I'm winding down finishing up paperwork, organizing files and getting ready for things next year. Bryan has students until Friday and at this point it is just getting through the day without any major instances. The boys are spending some quality time with the grandma's this week - so that let's me get what I need to do done without interruption. We had a great graduation party on Sunday. The yard looked great and the food was good. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We even bought a big swingset for the boys but we worked (mostly Bryan) to get it up in time for the party. The kids played hard and nobody got hurt - but only by the grace of God.

Here is a shot of Evan and Brennan enjoying the new swing set. Evan just laughs and smiles in that swing and Brennan can go really high. The weather has been fairly nice in the evenings - except for the nasty mosquitos - so it's nice to go out and play for a bit. I'm so ready for summer and all the fun we are going to have.

Okay, so speaking of mosquitos - I think I have a mosquito bite on my left eyelid. On Saturday my eyelid kind of hurt and was a little swollen so I thought I was getting a sty. I woke up on Sunday and my whole eyelid was swollen all the way across. I should have got a picture. It hurt like crazy but also itched really bad too. It is better today but still sore. How freakish is that?

And last night Brennan was supposed to be in bed - for, like an hour - I'm cutting coupons and we are watching the Heroes season finale when Brennan appears in the hallway and says "Daddy, chocolate chips melt." Uh, yeah...so get back to bed. It was cute and I wonder how long he thought of what he could say before he came out to say it. I guess he had chocolate chips on his mind since he and I made cookies that night. Okay, well...really I had a tube of wack and bake cookies - but it worked.

He did it!!

He did it - Bryan received his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from UTA. He walked the stage because we all needed a moment to realize what a great accomplishment this was. We are so proud! Bryan's parents brought over a bottle of Dom to celebrate!

Harry is Still the Man

We had a really great weekend!!! Friday night we went to the Ranger game with my family. It was pretty hot at first...but cooled off a bit once that Texas Sun went down. There was a fun fireworks show after the game - so we stayed for that. This first pick is of my Dad, Bryan and Brennan.
Evan got his first taste of ice cream .

I think it was a bit too cold.....

Evan LOVED watching the fireworks!!! This was his face the whole time.

He was sooooo tired by the end of the fireworks - but he was a good baby and didn't fuss at all. He slept in until 9:30 the next morning.

Saturday Brennan had his soccer game - and he was awesome...he can run so fast and really concentrates on what he's doing. We're so proud of him. Then my parents watched the kids (over night :)) while Bryan and I went and ate yummy Pappadeaux's food and saw Harry Connick, Jr. He was incredible!!! (sorry, Shannon). I think I have seen him every time he's come to DFW and he does such great shows. Last night was pretty relaxed and it just seems like he enjoys playing with his friends. I wonder how much he just sits and improvises each night. Anyways, it was great and then I got to sleep in until 8:30 this morning. Off by 9:15 to pick up the boys and we went to church had Knights of Columbus breakfast and went grocery shopping. We are enjoying a nice day at home for Mother's Day and getting ready for Bryan's graduation tomorrow night.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I have no excuse for not blogging in over a week. Except that I'm dead tired by 8:00pm and just want to crawl into bed. BTW, Bryan passed his test!!!! Yippee!!! He is graduating next Monday night and we are all so excited to have this road almost behind us. Now looking for the perfect new job will be another road to travel.
We are so tired of rain.....it is great for the earth but not good for our planning. We have a party coming up and major work to get done in the yard. Bryan wants to get sod laid down in that area that is a giant mud pit. But mother nature won't let things dry out enough before she dumps more water on us. Oh well...what can you do.

So I'll post some more pictures.

Bryan and Brennan made a fort in his bedroom last weekend. They piled up all the pillows around the edge of his bottom bunk bed and put up the blankets to hang down and create a "door". They were so cute in there. We read stories and Brennan wanted to take his flashlight in there. Too cute. He still has it set up that way and that's where he's been sleeping every night. We went to the Ranger game last Friday night. This is Brennan with his buds. They were so good and had so much fun! We are planning on going again this Friday night, too.Evan did fabulous at his first baseball game. He entertained all the people sitting behind us too.
