San Antonio
We conquered San Antonio last week on our little family vacation. We really had so much fun! We did the Riverwalk and Alamo when we arrived and swimming back at the hotel on the first day. Second day was Sea World - feeding dolphins, riding rides, feeding seals, watching shows and getting splashed by Shamu were some highlights. Third day - Fiesta Texas...we had so much fun there too. More rides and a waterpark were the highlights. The picture below is at Fiesta Texas next to the Log ride.
The picture below is of Evan's head injury. So, we had a not-so-great-parenting moment on our trip. Bryan was gone to ride the Superman roller coaster, I was watching Brennan get on a kiddie roller coaster (all by himself) and I was standing with 2 strollers - 1 with Evan in it. Next thing I know, Evan is on the ground. Yes, he took a header out of his stroller on to the cement curb. I was horrified. I couldn't go anywhere - Bryan's gone and Brennan is having the time of his life on the roller coaster...Evan is screaming and the bump on his head is growing and growing. People are staring at me probably whispering that I should have had him strapped into his stroller - okay, yes I should have BUT you know you haven't done it every single time too - so no guilt trips! I called Bryan to "get back over here NOW!" and I ran to first aid. They were nice and put ice on it and tried to tell me that this happens all the time. Evan was a trooper - he fell asleep (it was nap time anyways) and was fine the rest of the day. Yes, I continued to get horrified looks from people as they looked at him wondering what happened. But, oh well!
On our way back from San Antonio we stopped at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. We drove through seeing all the various animals and feeding them food pellets from our car. My home video of this is hysterical - mostly me nervously giggly as the big animals got close to our van. This is a shot of a longhorn up close and personal....he eventually stuck his head inside and bonked his horns on the windshield.
This is a cute shot of Brennan in his new T-shirt. It pretty much sums him up!
We had a nice Father's Day yesterday - brunch at Birra Piretti's with my fam, dinner at Bryan's brother's house. It rained most of the day and the weekend....we are tired of the rain but welcome the cooler weather. It's hard to believe that we haven't really been swimming yet and it's the middle of June. Another week has begun - We have VBS this week at church and plenty of errands and projects to keep us occupied.
