Vegas, Baby!

It's been a while since I've attempted this blogging thing...blah, blah, I know but I've spent more time on Facebook and now Twitter lately. Our PC is a piece of crap and it won't stay connected to the internet for longer than 10 minutes before you have to restart it. Any suggestions on how to fix that? Must be a bad wireless modem or something. So, needless to say I can't upload any photos to the blog when the computer keeps quitting. I'm attempting to use the work laptop so hopefully we'll have better luck AND I actually have a moment of quiet while the boys are plugged into, I mean, watching Boomerang!
Last week we took a little trip to Las Vegas. See, my youngest cousin, Matt was getting married on Thursday and how can you pass up a trip to Vegas to see a wedding? We stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel and here is the view from our hotel room. That's the New York New York Hotel for those of you who have never made it to Vegas. I've only been 2 times before. Once with my Mom and sister - the day after I got engaged in 1999 and one time with Bryan and our group of friends in December of 2000. Things have changed so much since I was there but it is still so exciting and breathtaking everywhere you turn.

We had fun greeting people in the hotel lobby on Wednesday, eating lunch at New York New York and doing some walking. We had dinner that night at Gallagher's Steak House in NYNY. It was so yummy and delicious. Bryan and I headed down the strip to make our way to the Bellagio to turn in a bet for his brother, Alan. We wanted to make sure we didn't forget to do that. We both had on the wrong shoes so we were miserable after all that walking and so tired - as we had been up for 20 hours at that point. So we cabbed it back to the MGM and went to bed.
Thursday was filled with Starbucks, gambling, sightseeing and visiting.

I had never stayed at the MGM before and I totally loved it - it was big but seemed easy enough to find your way around once you got the hang of it. The lobby was beautiful and smelled like fresh roses. The other 2 times I've been to Vegas we stayed at Mandalay Bay (new at the time) and the Mirage. Hopefully, I'll get to go back and stay someplace different next time. It's always a new experience.
The wedding was Thursday at 5pm at the Forever Grand Chapel in the MGM. It was short and sweet and everyone looked so beautiful. We had some time before the reception so we headed to Rouge - a bar in the hotel and had 2 for 1 drinks. What fun....shots, drinks, Jagerbombs and laughing....good times all around. Mom even won $260 on the Deal or No Deal slots. The reception was on the 23rd floor of the MGM in a Terrace Suite. It was decorated so lovely and everything was just amazing and dream-like. The view of the Strip was breathtaking and the vibe of the night was so much fun. We all took a bazillion pictures - but I'll only post a few for your viewing pleasure.
That's Chris (Betsie's hubby), Jason (my oldest cousin) and Bryan....they were smiling really big because I called them studs before I took the picture.
That's Matt and his lovely bride Lisa. They really know how to throw a fun party...and they look so happy, too!

This is what Bryan and I looked like after 4 hours of dancing! But we sure are fun people! Whoo hoo...
The rest of our trip encountered some shopping, lunching at the Wynn, more shopping and Blue Man Group show at the Venetian. We then hiked it all the way back to the MGM that night - boy, were we tired AND hungry but it was worth the walk. I guess I got some training walk time in too!
It's always hard to come back from a great vacation like that - but it was time - you don't want to spend too long in Vegas! AND we only ate at 1 buffet so that was good too.
Congratulations, Matt and Lisa!!!!!

What fun! I haven't been there since '97 when one of my brothers got married there. I'm sure it's changed a lot since then. Glad you two had a great time!
