Day 8 and 9

Day 8 began early - we wanted to leave Kalamazoo and get on the road. We had big plans to make it to Sikeston, MO that night. We were hoping to get to Lambert's (Home of the Throwed Rolls) for dinner. The drive was fairly easy. The ever famous McDonald's was our stop for lunch. The boys were busy watching their movie so we rigged them up in the car like this:

We arrived in Sikeston, checked into the Comfort Inn and then decided to head over to Lambert's...the place we all had been dreaming of for miles. We see a line but I wasn't too concerned there is ALWAYS a line at Lambert's. Just as we are getting out of the car I hear over the loud speaker "The wait is 2 to 2 hours and 15 minutes for a table - just so you know." "WHAT?!?!?" It would have been like eating at 8:30 at night! I noticed people actually camping out in camp chairs behind their cars in the parking lot. What in the world? It's good -but not THAT good! There was no way we all could last for 2 more hours for dinner so we headed over to Ruby Tuesday. Evan was off the wall at this point. He needed some food and fast - thank God for that salad bar with crackers! I even got a free margarita - so good enough for me at Ruby Tuesday.

Day 9 was long and tiresome - nothing to report here - just more driving back through Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. The boys did great. We pulled into the driveway at 5pm. Roadtrip Summer '09 - over and out.
