Happy Birthday, Brennan!!!

I thought I couldn't believe it when Evan turned 2 last week....but I really can't believe it that Brennan turned 5! Firstly, because I can't believe I have been that responsible for 5 years to keep him alive and secondly, because he is on his way.
He is on his way to growing up, maturing and learning all there is too learn.
He is on his way to reading. He loves books (always has) and has been working on his reading at school. Soon enough he will be reading books on his own and not needing us to sit and read to him every night before bed.
He is on his way to writing. His handwriting has totally improved since last year. He is so careful (most of the time) and is taking pride in his writing. Soon enough he will be passing notes he's written in class to a crush and writing major homework assignments.
He is on his way to math. He has been very interested in numbers lately and asking us questions like "What is 100 + 100 +100?" "What is 100 + 3?". Soon enough he will be working on math problems that I will not have the answers too because it will be too hard for me!
He is on his way boyhood. He has already been a part of sport teams and soon enough it will take up even more time in our week than it already does. He got a bike for his birthday and soon enough he will be racing around the neighborhood and we won't be able to keep up.
He is on his way to playing the piano. I started him on some beginning piano books. He has done very well and seems interested in it. Soon enough he will be playing piano just by reading the notes.
I love how Brennan won't try something until he knows he can do it right the first time (just like me) and I love how Brennan is initially shy around people and then quickly becomes their friend (just like his Dad).
He makes me proud every day that he belongs to us and I'm looking forward to watching him on his journey.
Happy 5th Birthday, Brennan!
