Leap Year and whatever that means
So today is Leap Day. Do you see me jumping for joy? I guess I just don't get how it really effects me. I suppose it's exciting for those people that were actually born on this day and they can actually turn another year older after 4 years....but really what is the point? I see it as 1 more day to wait for a paycheck. And one more day to wait for it to turn to March. 1 more day to add to the year - and if your year isn't going that great, well, then this day isn't that exciting. I heard a lady in a doctor's office yesterday say to the nurses on her way out - "What are you going to do for Leap Day tomorrow?" They all just stared at her, like...go to work, that's what we normally do. So she says..."maybe you should wear your clothes backwards or something." The 1 lady said, "well, I am taking tomorrow afternoon off." Like that was her most exciting thing she could think of to get this lady to shut up. I wonder if SHE's going to wear her clothes backwards and walk around like that today. What an idiotic thing to do...it's just another day in February.

Laughing
Reid was really laughing at his goof ball cousins. All they were doing was bouncing a ball in the kitchen and he thought it was hysterical. Maybe this video should remind us to enjoy the simple things in life that can bring us joy.

Anniversary
It is my 1 year blog anniversary! This has been a venture I have enjoyed doing and am enjoying learning more about. It is quite addictive and I'm so glad that people stop by and visit my little site to check out what is happening with us. I just can't believe it's already been one year! I've been a major slacker lately and I have a bunch of things to post - but my brain is too pooped tonight to attempt that. I'm looking foward to getting better at writing and posting our daily stories and happenings.
Love to you all!

Evan, Evan, Evan
Here's a little video snippet of Evan darling having fun at Grandma's while painting!

Weekend Recovery
This weekend was crazy busy....it was fun - at least for me but still crazy busy.
Friday night started off with a dinner trip to Babe's in Burleson - if you haven't been there - you must go. If you have been there and you live in Arlington, jump up and down because they are going to open one in downtown A-town in a few years! Yippee!!!!!! Bryan missed out on this dinner trip because he was at All-City. Poor thing. But the kids spent the night at Grandparent's house - so we at least slept all night.
Saturday, I accompanied some students at Solo and Ensemble - it's a journey with some kids as they experience some life lessons. My own life lessons I remember well in these things we call Solo and Ensemble contests. And I suppose they make me a better person today??? Anyways, thank God for my ability to sightread sheet music and keep a steady beat on the piano. It didn't pay bad either. Bryan started his day and continued his day at All-City...again, more life lessons.
When I finished, I traveled to Frisco to enjoy some girl time with my friends. We scrapbooked - some more than others - partook in some alcoholicky beverages, ate, compared children stories, husband/boyfriend stories, played Wii, complained about various other things, ate some more, and enjoyed swearing without little ears around to hear it. We all made it to bed around the 3am hour.
My children hung out with both sets of grandparents on Saturday. I'm sure they were kept fully entertained and busy and thank God for Grandparents that will do that!
Sunday - I made it back safely from Frisco and went straight to church rehearsal. No body complained that I smelled too badly from my lack of shower that morning. When I finally saw my children that afternoon we had to get ready to head over to some friends' house to watch the Super Bowl. I don't necessarily have any thoughts on it. It was fun to hang with friends but I didn't even know where they were playing the Super Bowl. I'm sure it will effect my life on more of a personal level when the blasted Super Bowl will be in Arlington in a few years and we will all be sick to death of anything that has to do with the Super Bowl. Brennan woke up at 4:30 - something about his music being on - I don't know - "go back to bed" was all I could mumble. Well, I felt a little bit guilty and went to check on him - and, of course....drum roll, please - he's sportin' a fever. It wasn't anything thermometer busting but it was definitely not the normal 98.6. So, I'm home with him today. But, I'm fairly happy about that - not because my kid is sick - but that I can be home with him and we can paint and do projects and take naps so that we both feel better tomorrow.

Parents: "Brennan, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
Son: "An adult"
Parents: "Oh, that makes sense."
