Well, 10 months of planning, fundraising, thinking, training, shopping, discussing is all coming to an end this weekend. It's here - the Breast Cancer 3 Day! Shannon, Lindsey and I are leaving tonight. We'll drive to a hotel in Plano tonight so we can be at the Opening Ceremony by 6:00am Friday morning. I just can't believe that it is actually here. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ready - yes! I'm ready to start. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to get my feet hitting the pavement. It has been a long journey and I'm looking forward to walking into the closing ceremony at Fair Park! 60 miles is a long way - but I feel confident that we can do it - or at least most of it. Yes, we will be miserable come Monday morning. But it will be so worth it to have completed this goal that I never thought I could do. I'm also ready for a bit of normalcy to come back to me and our family. I'm ready for a little extra time in our day and routine. But, I'm also looking forward to the time away with some great friends experiencing an amazing event! My bag is packed I'm ready to go.
Thank you so much for all that have supported us, donated and helped us in any way, shape or form. We are so blessed and because of all of our efforts we having been named one of the Power Teams for the DFW 3Day! Amazing!!!
I will be updating my status via twitter and facebook as major milestones happen. Follow along if you are interested. Come to one of the cheering stations over the weekend to see the close to 3000 walkers march by. You can go to www.the3day.org under spectator info to learn more. It will be an amazing sight to see.
Thanks again and wish us luck!!!
